What these terms cover
They cover the use of this website and the calculators on it. Using the site means accepting them. They are short because the site is simple: it publishes calculators and explanations, it sells nothing, it holds no account of yours, and it asks for nothing in return.
The calculators are estimates
Every figure on this site is produced by applying published rules or standard arithmetic to the values you entered. It is offered for information and comparison. It is not a quotation, not an assessment, not a statement of what any tax authority will charge or any lender will lend, and not a promise that your own payslip, bill or offer will match.
The site is maintained with the discipline described on the about page: statutory figures come from official documents and carry the tax year and the date they were last checked, formula tools state the convention they used and what they leave out. That is a real effort to be right, and it is not a warranty. Rules change, documents are superseded, a reading can be wrong, and a page may be out of date between the day a rule changes and the day the data file is updated. The site is provided as it is, without warranty of accuracy, completeness, currency or fitness for any particular purpose.
No professional relationship
Nothing here is tax, legal, accounting or financial advice, and using the site creates no adviser relationship of any kind. A calculator does not know your circumstances, your history, your other income, your reliefs or your obligations, and it never asks. Decisions about money are yours, and the significant ones deserve a professional who can be told the whole picture and who carries responsibility for the answer.
Using the site
You may use the calculators for your own purposes, personal or commercial, and you may link to any page here from anywhere. You may quote a figure or a passage with a link back to the page it came from.
What is not allowed: automated collection at a rate or scale that degrades the site for other people; republishing the calculators, their content or their data files as a substitute for the site; presenting results as though they came from somewhere else, and in particular as though they came from a tax authority or a lender; removing or obscuring the disclaimers, tax years or source citations shown with a figure; and any attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or the machine it runs on.
Content and data
The text, explanations, page design and software of this site belong to its operator. The underlying legal materials do not: tax tables, statutes and official publications belong to the bodies that issue them, and this site claims nothing over them. Where a page cites a document, the citation is there so you can read the original, which is always the authority rather than this site's reading of it.
Links to other sites
Pages link out to official sources and other external material. Those sites are not under this site's control, and linking to one is a pointer to a document rather than an endorsement of whoever publishes it. Advertisements come from an advertising network and are not chosen or vetted here; an ad is not a recommendation, and any dealing with an advertiser is between you and them.
Availability
The site is offered without any commitment to uptime. Pages may be changed, corrected, moved or withdrawn at any time, and a calculator may be taken down if its data can no longer be kept accurate. Keeping a wrong calculator up because someone relies on it is the worse outcome of the two.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, the operator of this site is not liable for loss arising from use of the site or reliance on a figure it produced, including loss of profit, tax paid or not paid, a loan taken or refused, or a decision made on an estimate. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of the country in which the operator of this site is established, and disputes are subject to the courts of that country. If you use the site as a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not remove the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country you live in, which apply whatever these terms say.

The date this page was last reviewed is shown under the title, and the version published here is the version that applies. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the changed terms; there is no account to notify, which is why the date is on the page.
